Who's fired up for the cricket

Melbourne 38 degrees, the MCG, three rows back from the front, right behind the bowlers arm, Shane Bond charging in to bowl them at 150 - the aussies running scared after a pasting by England last night. I tell you, who couldn't be fired up about the cricket tomorrow. That's right, I'll be there doning my beige and black face paint (well maybe not the face paint) a lone Kiwi among 50,000 aussies. This is turning out to be a crucial encounter, a win a we can pretty much guarantee a place in the finals, a loss and we head to a winner takes all match against England on Tuesday. I'll let you know about the famed MCG atmosphere in a few days time.

Actually, it won't be my first time at the MCG. Asia and I went down to watch a 20/20 dosmetic game between the bushrangers and bulls early in the year, meeting up with Asia's cousin Jenna who is over from the UK (the same one we stayed with when we were over there - http://windcrusader.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html). The MCG, despite all the overblown hype, really is a truly amazing sports stadium. It's like being in another world when you are inside there, it is so huge. I can't wait to see it at least half full tomorrow!

Okay well, we are off for a swim at laughing waters now - Melbourne, summer, enough said.
